UCMDB

The foundation of the Universal CMDB is based on three key elements: a rich data model, visualization, and federation to additional data repositories. The Universal CMDB provides impact analysis, change tracking, and reporting capabilities to transform CMDB data into comprehensible, actionable information that helps answer critical questions and solve business problems. Most importantly, the HP Universal CMDB provides other IT solutions both service context and CI-level information. These solutions not only include HP offerings, but also a broad range of third-party solutions. By leveraging the CMDB, the customer can view changes in the IT environment and determine what critical applications may be impacted.

Through an auto discovery using agent-less patterns, the UCMDB can check critical systems within the environment constantly for changes without impact to the application and transparent to the end user.

UCMDB proactively monitors critical applications for change and to allow the customer to plan for changes before they occur. This allows planning for changes to a critical application without incurring critical down time.

The value the UCMDB brings is the ability to create scenarios using discovered CIs within the environment to allow customers to see an impact to an application before the change is made. This allows better planning and less chance of critical application downtime.
